Another day, another pipeline explosion

Sabotage me once, shame on me, sabotage me twice... ?

I didn’t expect to write another one, on such short notice, and somewhat of short length but life is truly becoming interesting lately. Interesting, and coincidental one could say.


Far from me from downplaying the events in Israel this past weekend, after all, there is a tangible probability of the war spilling over in the region, and geopolitics taking its twists and turns. We might end up with an Israeli-Iranian war on our hands, which would be disastrous globally. But, always a but, I often allude to the magician’s hands.

The magician’s hands are the tried and true tactic of smoke and mirrors, diverting the attention of the public with mass information (or is it mass propaganda ?) during moments when events of higher significance occur. Such events often have larger, longer-term ramifications, change and victory are better achieved incrementally, without your adversary even being aware the other is making “moves”.

Fool me once shame on me, sabotage my pipeline twice, shame on… someone. A sudden loss of pressure in the pipeline between Finland and Estonia led to a quick investigation. Source for the official press release.

“According to a preliminary assessment, the observed damage could not have occurred as a result of normal use of the pipe or pressure fluctuations. It is likely that the damage is the result of external activity,” Orpo said.

Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation was leading an inquiry into the leak, Orpo said, adding that the leak occurred in Finland’s economic zone. According to Estonian authorities, the damaged area of the data cable owned by the Finnish mobile operator and Internet service provider Elisa is likely located in Estonia’s economic zone, and Estonia’s military was investigating the matter.

Below everyone’s noses, the pipeline connecting both countries was damaged, and by all accounts from multiple sources, it was done by “external forces”. The Estonian Defense Minister stated the damage could not possibly be done by a diver or small robot, it was significant. Repair work on the pipeline may take months. The damage allied with the Israel-Hamas war is already affecting gas prices, and further disruption may induce another seismic energy shortage. (Israel sells gas to Egypt, and Egypt ships the gas to…Europe…)

Per a couple of my articles, the only reason the whole of the European Union was able to tackle the whims and woes of 2022 was by demand destruction via deindustrialization. Further loss of industry will set the whole continent back a good couple decades, and derail the entire economy.

At first, my entire focus was on the pipeline, but after going through more information, well, it jumped into my eyes. Even when significant events occur, one can use them to hide their actual goal. Besides the pipeline damage, an undersea data cable was also damaged.

Both are critical infrastructure, but arguably from a modern society perspective, the backbone of the internet is of higher importance, since so much of the global infrastructure itself relies on connection to the net. As previously outlined, such events will become more common, sowing chaos is good for certain businesses. Especially the War Business.

Taking the cue that we are discussing hybrid war tactics, a few other events took place right before or during the Israel-Hamas war. First, a significant amount of refining capacity just went offline in Texas, as Valero shut down after a fire on its refinery, the short-lived loss amounts to 290.000 barrels/day.

As the US potentially gears up to either aid to Israel, or outright (suicidal) war with Iran, another event of notice took place.

And for once, a man was arrested under terrorism charges for purposefully attempting to derail trains in Cleveland.

There are a few other events of significance but not “higher importance” such as, in such a timely manner, bird flu coming back to commercial flocks in the US and Africa, curious in the case of Africa per the news video, two separated strains on dozens of locations…

Perhaps we will have November, December, Year’s Eve surprises too.


I often abstain from pure speculation and opinion, but if you live in the US, I suggest you stock up on some drugs that work against different infections. A war against Iran is insanity on multiple levels, and in case you are not aware, Iran has one of the top biological weapons programs on the entire planet (China is also allied with Iran), and both are known for their vast spy networks, and both are among the biggest cyber threats. Always keep in mind we now live in a hybrid, asymmetrical world. War is not bound by territorial lines anymore.
